Fitness trackers are the new pedometers and everyone is starting to wear them. Even watches are starting to get smart features and become fitness trackers as well, as seen for example in the Apple Watch and many of Garmin’s watches.
If you don’t have the money for a smart watch to track your fitness, fret not. Because there are many options out there that are cheap but still effective. The technology in these watches has become so cheap and there is so much competition that the fitness trackers are getting better and still getting cheaper.
What do they track?
Fitness trackers these days can track more that just steps. They can some track heart rate and a wide variety of activities and exercising. They do this by combining the accelerometer data with heart rate data to determine what you are doing. Of course the user can always manually alter the activity in the tracker’s app. So if you want to track how your new yoga gear is helping you get fit, one of these trackers is the way to go.
These trackers will also track your sleep, however there is questions over how accurate the data is. The movement from the accelerometer and heart rate data should give a rough estimate of how you are sleeping. Of course it won’t compare to proper sleep tracking devices that are accessible these days.
You can find the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 here, which is a very popular and great value for money fitness band. It has a minimal and sleek design and almost just looks like a silicon bracelet. You can even incorporate it into your outfits as a fashion accessory if you are so satorically talented. Another option around the same price range is this fitness tracker made by LETSCOM, which has a similar design to the more expensive FitBits. It comes in a large variety of colors to suit your preference.
